Uh Huh Baby Yeah – 5th ROAD BLOG from “The Better Down South Tour”

The pop rock band, Uh Huh Baby Yeah, is currently on “The Better Down South Tour” with Lion In The Mane and Dreamcatcher (ex- The Dangerous Summer). While they’re on this tour, they will be doing an exclusive blog for our site. You can check out the fifth and final entry, with photos, after the break.

I miss the shows, I miss the friends, I miss the new family we have acquired. This past month has been a great experience in our lives.

Over the last week, we trekked through The Masquerade in Atlanta, playing one of the coolest venues I’ve ever stepped inside. It was once an old mill, and now it is three floors of awesome architecture. We were met there by some of our most loyal friends, and received a much needed care package of delicious snack foods.

From there, it was onto Raleigh, NC, our home away from home. Kevin grew up in the surrounding area, so we drove through the night and made it to his father’s house in the wee hours of the morning. It’s always nice to be back with family, and we all got much needed showers and Kevin Sr. treated us to pizza and a viewing of Interstellar before we hit the road to the venue.

I can’t really stress how much we love Raleigh. Our friends and family in the area came out, some of which we haven’t seen in years. Also, some of our friends from Louisville made the 9+ hour drive to hang out with us. Seeing dedication like that really means the world. After the show, we all hung out, went to a local bar, then to our absolute favorite restaurant in the area: DEMO’S PIZZERIA & DELI. The best pizza and sandwiches in North Carolina by far. Big shout out to our brother Clay for having us!

From there we hit Baltimore, the hometown of Dreamcatcher. It was great to see them really in their element, in front of their crowd.

The next night we were in Philly at the North Star Bar. Before the show, Dima of Lion in the Mane took me out for Vegan Cheesesteaks. If you’re ever in the area, Blackbird Pizza is the ultimate place for vegan comfort food in Philadelphia. The show that night was on point. The sound at North Star was absolutely amazing.

Our last night together was spent in NYC, home of Lion in the Mane. After $100 dollars in tolls, we were relieved to know that the pizzeria next to Arlene’s Grocery was rocking $0.99 pizza slices. These would come in handy later when we convinced a toll booth operator to let us pass for $2.00 and one of these said slices. The night was bittersweet. The show was extremely high energy, the crowd was fantastic, and it included friends from home who had relocated to the Big Apple.

Lion in the Mane closed the show. During the last song, each member from all the bands rushed the stage. We were all together one last time for a final bow. It was a great send off to a great time together. After the show, I was met with a few complimentary beverages…
And 14 hours later, I was home.

I’m writing this from my bed in Louisville, KY.

Tour hasn’t been over a full day and I already miss it.
