The Story So Far’s Spring U.S. Tour 2015 with Four Year Strong – GALLERY + REVIEW

We got a chance to check out the pop/punk band, The Story So Far’s spring U.S. tour 2015 when it rolled through Chicago at Concord Music Hall. Four Year Strong, Terror and Souvenirs were on the show as well. You can check out our gallery and review, after the break.

This past Wednesday night, if you were not at Concord Music Hall, then you missed a really great show. On the bill was The Story So Far, Four Year Strong, Terror, and Souvenirs.

Opening the night from California, was Souvenirs. Having never heard of them before, I am so glad I now have. The whole band, even though they don’t play heavy music and their vibe is pretty chill, seem to have a lot of energy throughout the show. They are definitely a band to check out and may become your new favorite. They put out their first full-length album last year, You, Fear and Me, which is worth checking out. Listen to “Swan”, or “A Mile High” to get a feel for the band.

Up next was Terror. Every time I see this band, they just seem to get more and more fans. Once they took the stage, the crowd amped up the energy and began moshing and crowd surfing. With five albums already under their belt, they made sure to keep the audience happy playing old and newer songs. Lead singer, Scott Vogel, got deep during the set when he gave a mini speech against fighting and hurting each other. I like when bands take the time to address issues or to give their opinion. These are people that others look up to and take their words to heart, so why not use the spotlight for good? Ironically enough, a fight did break out during The Story So Far’s encore song and being heard was some people saying “Terror said no fighting!”, which was pretty cool to hear. If you haven’t already done so, give a listen to some of their songs, especially “Spit My Rage”, “Stick Tight”, “Hard Lessons”, and “Your Enemies are Mine”. Look out for their album, The 25th Hour, coming out soon.

Four Year Strong was next and you could tell the crowd was eagerly waiting for their arrival. As soon as they started, people were singing along and crowd surfing once again. They have been around for years now and their fan base just keeps growing. Veteran fans like me were pleased to hear them play old songs such as “Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die” and “Bada Bing! Wit’ a Pipe!”. It just got me even more excited for their new self-titled album coming out in June.

What I love most about The Story So Far, is that they gained recognition really quickly. The fact that they played Bamboozle, a three-day fest, on every day was pretty cool. They work hard to get their name and music out there and I’m so excited for them to be able to headline a tour. Their most popular album, Under Soil and Dirt, seems to be widely known now throughout the pop-punk community and that was only released a few years ago. They have a new album which will be officially released May 19th. However, the album was released streaming online earlier this week and people at the show already had the lyrics memorized. If you have never seen this band live, what are you waiting for?
