Saint Asonia – TOUR PRANKS

In this Tour Pranks segment, the rock band, Saint Asonia, shares a prank from the road. You can read their story, after the break.

What’s always cool is to tour with bands that have a sense of humor. Sometimes on the last day of the tour you get to have a little fun and come up with a little cool prank. This particular prank had many details to it. Matter fact it was giving a name called operation desert squid. So here’s somewhat the short version of it.

After much planning for the last day of the tour. The band we pick to prank would be playing there set when it would happen. Earlier that day we had some friends come out from down south. They brought us 6 fighting roosters, 20 pig ears, 20 chicken feet, gaff tape and giant tarp size plastic blankets. So at that point we needed to get on their bus while they were playing. Lucky for us one of their crew guys was more than willing to help. Sidenote, always be cool to your crew. Once inside the bus we laid the plastic tarp all over the floor chairs everywhere because it was going to get crazy. We started taping the chicken feet and pig ears to the ceiling throughout the bus. We turned up the heat on the bus as hot as it would go. Bare in mind it’s in the middle of summer when it’s 90° or above. The we put Alice in chains rooster song on repeat. Release six fighting roosters on the bus. Shut and locked the door behind us so nothing looked suspicious. Broke out the video cameras and patiently waited haha. The band was scared and did know what to think when they walk back on their bus. It was hilarious to watch as they came running out of the bus I’m fighting chickens chasing them. They took it well and yes they got us back, but it was nothing like operation Desert squid. I think it was all documented video somewhere. All good fun remember be safe and have a creative tour prank for the history books!!
