Tiny Kingdoms – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the indie band, Tiny Kingdoms, talk about some of their crazy moments from touring. You can check out the feature, after the break.

On our first two week tour, we went out with our friends in Gardens. We hit this town in WV one day and it was EMPTY. There was no on the street and there were barely any cars out. It was almost a complete ghost town. We all come from the Chicago-land area so none of us are used to quiet towns.
The people running the venue, which was a small coffee shop on the lower floor of a building, were incredibly friendly. At one point Nico and Ryan asked to see the top floor of the venue and were shown it by the venue owner and their friends. The upstairs was an ancient looking ballroom with back rooms filled with old, broken equipment. While Nico and Ryan were looking around, one of the group members pulled out a gallon sized bag of weed and then used a diet coke can to smoke with. It didn’t look healthy.
Following the show, Jake and Nico went to explore more of the upstairs area. Most of the lights were dead, and cracks and creaks could be heard throughout the level. The air was stiff and you could smell the wood rotting. This particular location was the host of an astral portal leaking to an alternate dimension. Everything felt hazy. Things were different but they were also the same.
Jake and Nico met up with everyone else and went to a hotel, where the desk lady let everyone into the pool around 2am. We all swam around in our underwear and probably made the hotel employee feel incredibly uncomfortable when she came in to bring extra towels. Shout out to you Jenny.
While we have gone on multiple tours since then, we have not dismissed the idea that we are actually still in WV. Our bodies hide under the floor of the ballroom, just waiting to be woken and rescued. Who knows how much time has actually passed in the real world, while we live in this astral realm?
