Tauk – TOUR TIPS

New York natives, Tauk, were kind enough to write a set of Tour Tips for you guys to learn from. You can check them out after the break.

1. When leaving band gear alone in a vehicle/trailer over night, park it so that the easiest load in/out point is tightly against a wall, preventing any thief’s of misfits from opening it and taking something large and valuable. If you have any small valuable things, bring them inside with you.
2. (Food) Cracker Barrel is your early/late morning breakfast friend… go for the wholesome mornin sampler. (survival food) While it may not be your first choice, a simple Subway sandwich is the best choice in the parts of the country where anything but fried, heavily breaded fast food is scarce. Subway is EVERYWHERE.
3. Discuss who will be designated driver before the gig, not after. If you have an early morning drive after a late night gig, don’t party too hard if you expect to be driving. Overall moderation is the key to longevity of mind and body on the road.
4. Do your best to bend to the situation and keep the collective mood up. Decide things by a vote, if you have an even number of people then Rock Paper Scissors will suffice. Don’t make a huge issue of it if things didnt go your way. Band moral is key to having a good show.
5. Have fun, even if its not the biggest gig on the tour, enjoy it! We do this to have fun so dont loose sight of that. There can be many obstacles on tour that can bring you to become bitter, jaded or just straight up angry. This is just the way the cards fall sometimes. Work through it and remember why your there (because you love it!).
