Slowes – DREAM TOUR

In this Dream Tour segment, the indie duo, Slowes, let you know who they would like on their ultimate tour lineup. You can check out the feature, after the break.

At first, we obviously thought of our current favorite acts: Tame Impala, Mac DeMarco & James Blake – but that list is actually possible (since they are all active) and therefore quite boring.

We have therefore chosen a dream tour with Frank Sinatra.

Me and Anders (Slowes) visited New York a few months ago and I (Jack) am currently being swallowed alive by the genius tv-series “The Sopranos”. That is maybe why mobsters, pasta, New York and crooning is on our minds at the moment.

The idea of singing at skyline clubs every night, being friends with the guys down in Little Italy and never being messed with, sounds pretty amazing.

Also, having a big band orchestra with you every time is something very rare today – it would be cool to borrow some of the horns for our live show. There’s some kind of glory and pride in doing something epic when it comes to swing music. Even though it’s a very old-fashioned style which praises the man to be a man – there’s a vulnerability and sadness to it. We see it in our own music. The big and naive choruses, the slow-tempo verses, which could be crooned with just a piano & mic setup. I think it’s these contrasts which really catches us on.
