Sammy Adams’ “Summer of Sammy Tour” – GALLERY + REVIEW

Recently, we had the chance to attend and photograph Sammy Adams’ “Summer of Sammy Tour” in Chicago, with Matt Easton. You can check out our review and photos, after the break.

On this recent Friday night, if you weren’t at Subterranean you missed one hell of a party. Sammy Adams came through with Matt Easton for his “Summer of Sammy” tour.

When I got there, Illinois native, Matt Easton, took the stage and everyone seemed to love him. With him on stage was a guitarist and Easton also played the piano for a few songs as well. With it being a small stage, he really made it his own. The energy he emitted alone, makes me want to see him perform again. Both him and his guitarist were all smiles the whole set. He will be going on tour again in September with Academy. As of right now there are no Chicago dates set for it, but maybe it will change. He also had a twitter contest going where if you tweeted him, he would pick one winner to get free merch after the show. If you have the chance listen to his songs, “Sex with Exes”, “Rockchalk”, “Live Life”, and “Walking over Water” to hear some of his original music.

After Easton, was Sammy Adams. As soon as he took the stage, there was no stop to everyone jumping and dancing. Along with his older material such as “Coast to Coast”, and “I Hate College remix” he also played his newer songs. This tour being at smaller venues, provided a more intimate feel. Being there seemed like it was one big house party. People were drinking, dancing, and having fun. Sammy himself even got in the crowd a few times to party with us. The ending to his set, was him performing a bunch of his older songs back to back such as “Only One”, and “All Night Longer”. Summer of Sammy tour is still going strong and if you’ve never seen Sammy Adams live, this is the tour to see him at.
