Chicago was the last stop on the Sammy Adams and T. Mills tour and it was surely a night to remember. At first, I wasn’t sure how many people were going to come out to this show for two reasons: (1) it was on a Sunday and (2) MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) was also in town. To my surprise, when I walked up to The Metro about 20 minutes before doors, there was already a line wrapped around the block and later found out the concert was sold out. This put my excitement level and expectations through the roof, so hopefully Sammy Adams and T.Mills would deliver.
T. Mills took the stage first and he really got the crowd going. This was the first time he has performed in Chicago and I hope it is not his last. Playing old favorites such as “She got A…”, “The Boom”, “Scandalous”, and “Vans On”, and new ones such as “Lightweight”, “Loud”, “Right Song”, “Other Bitch Callin’”, and he dedicated “Diemonds” to his grandmother who recently passed away. The crowd went crazy for him and was dancing as well. If you have not been to a T.Mills show, then you are missing out. I’d also like to note that after the show, T.Mills came outside to meet fans and take pictures.
Before Sammy Adams graced the stage, DJ JayCeeOh got the crowd amped up by spinning some tracks. It felt like one huge club party with the remixes he was throwing on and the way people were dancing. After a while, Sammy came on stage and everyone cheered. The crowd was singing along and enjoying themselves during every song. Some of the set’s highlights including: “Coming Up”, “I Hate College (Remix)”, “Only One”, “Coast to Coast”, “Driving Me Crazy”, and “Tear it Up”. Sammy really put on a great show. T. Mills came back out on-stage at one point and they did a song together called “I Do”. After Sammy left the stage, people chanted one more song and he came back and sang “All Night Longer”.
If you were unable to attend a show on this tour, I would definitely make sure to not miss either of these performers next time they are on the road. Both are a guaranteed fun time.
