Roses & Revolutions – TOUR TIPS

In this Tour Tips segment, the indie pop duo, Roses & Revolutions, give you their tips for being on tour. You can check out the feature, after the break.

Tip #1: Carry hand sanitizer with you. You’re going to touch some gross stuff. You’re going to be in bathrooms that don’t have soap. You’re going to have to shake a LOT of hands at your show. It’s going to happen… and if you’re not careful, you could get pretty sick… and that’s the last thing you need with a bunch of shows in line.
Tip #2: ALWAYS CHECK FOR BEDBUGS. It doesn’t matter if you’re staying in a motel or the Hilton. You don’t want to be feasted on by little bugs and you don’t want to spend over a $1000 to exterminate them when you get home. So, check the crevices of the bed right when you get in the room. Also, put your luggage on the tile bathroom floor. They don’t like bathrooms. :)
Tip #3: Chain restaurants are your friends. It’s really fun to try out new places, but going to a 24-hour diner in a little no name town is a sure way to get yourself food poisoning. I know, because it happened to me! I stick with packing my own food (going to a grocery store and getting wheat bread with PB&J or turkey and mustard) or going to a place where I know what to expect!
Tip #4: Try to stay positive. Luggage gets lost, instruments get damaged, people are mean, hotels are shitty… the list goes on and on. What we’ve found about being negative is that it makes things seem WAY worse than they are. With every negative thing, try to think… “well, at least THAT didn’t happen”, or “it could be worse”. It doesn’t always work, but just try smiling. It’s usually infectious.
Tip #5: Spend time in the city you’re playing! It’s so fun to explore new places… If you’re a foodie, check out Food Network’s website and look up places that have been featured on the shows! You can search by city or state. Also, look up some cool hiking trails or even something as simple as a nice coffee shop or wine bar. Just have fun on your down time!!
