Everyone Likes Cathleen – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

We’ve had some pretty crazy things happen to us while on tour, but this story was definitely the most exhausting. We were staying in a hotel in Chihuahua the night before a show, since we were touring with another band, we were given three rooms, two of them were right in front of each other and the other one was like two rooms across. At some point of the night, everyone heard strange loud noises coming from the roof and although some of us checked it out, we didn’t find anything. The next morning we woke up to an empty room because some guy slipped into the hotel through a window in the ceiling (hence the sounds the night before) and stole all our money. He also took three cell phones, Giovanni’s (bassist) bag, shoes and some other stuff while we were still sleeping. Aside from us he stole from like 6 other rooms of the hotel and got out by the front door like nothing happened (and the guy at the entrance didn’t even ask a single thing), the guy was a damn pro.

We were playing a competition that same day, so we won enough money to travel to Ciudad Juarez and all the guys from the other bands gathered all the money they could from their own wallets and gave it to us, just to help us keep the tour going. Some months (and two tours), later, the Chihuahua police contacted us and told us the guy who stole our stuff was found murdered, so karma unfortunately caught up with him. That’s the most mentally exhausting of our stories, although it eventually came out well, you know, except for the guy.
