The rock band, Alesana, is currently on their full spring U.S. tour, called “The Confessions Tour” with Capture The Crown, The Browning, Conquer Divide and The Funeral Portrait. While they’re on this tour, they’ll be doing an exclusive blog for our site. You can check out the third entry, written by drummer, Jeremy Bryan, after the break.
This week has turned out to be a true test of our band and crew’s abilities to stay calm and keep pushing forward.
In Minneapolis, Minnesota, our sprinter stopped starting and was stuck behind a huge trailer in the alley behind Skyway Theater. After the first mechanic was called under the impression that our battery that powers the engine was shot left, the second mechanic came and looked at our rig in much greater detail. After hours of troubleshooting, it was diagnosed that the issues lie within the computer.
The sprinter was towed to the mechanic’s shop north of Minneapolis and we spent the night in a hotel. The next morning our friend’s in The Funeral Portrait picked us up and hauled our band to the next show. Our trailer followed being towed by a pickup truck. A HUGE thanks to Bobby Lee for storing our trailer for the night. We showed up in Wisconsin, in a huge rush to get our gear upstairs to the stage of Warehouse in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Everyone from the tour package came down to help us load in late and with everyone’s hands filled with instruments, boxes, and amplifiers, we began the show. The support that was given to us by our tour family truly showed the amount of strength and bonding that has occurred over the last two weeks.
We took the stage in LaCrosse and could feel the floor shaking beneath us. After the show, our camp was forced to be split up. Our tour manager and FOH guy took the pickup truck and trailer back to Minnesota to wait for our Sprinter to be fixed while we progressed forward to the next show. While headed towards Iowa, our friends in TFP’s trailer tires took a lot of wear and tear from the extra weight of our gear packed inside. Although we were set back again having the tires repaired we went on to play a great show in Iowa. Tonight we will take the stage at Firebirds in St. Louis and tomorrow we will be reunited with the rest of our crew and home on wheels in Kansas.
