You Were Never Lovelier - FIRST CONCERT EVER
Join us as You Were Never Lovelier tells you about some of his concert experiences.
In this First Concert Ever segment, the pop punk artist, You Were Never Lovelier, talks about the story of his first experience with live music. You can check out the story below:
My first concert ever was a choir concert that my dad directed. (He was my music teacher throughout school). The whole family would attend those events and my little kid self would kinda dread them honestly because I was like, "Who are all these people? And why do we have to sit still and be quiet for so long?" It was still a cool experience though because I would get goosebumps every now and then from some songs. Some were slow and dissonant and others were more upbeat — like the Disney medleys — that got all the white kids moving (we were all white and yes, we were forced to move and clap).
But my first BIG rock concert was the Newsboys, this Christian rock band that I didn't really listen to, but once again had no choice in attending or not. It was at a stadium, and I was just amazed at all the production — the lights, the loud sounds, the screens. It was so amazing to be in that setting with a bunch of screaming/singing people. It was a great time!
I'll include some of my favorite concerts ever: 1) Theo Katzman at The Troubadour in LA. THAT MAN CAN TAKE MY MONEY. Hands down the best show I've ever seen. The musicality and performance of he and his band was 10/10 exceptional. 2) Kingdom of Giants, Dayseeker, & Silent Planet at The House Of Blues in Anaheim. Such a badass show. Thankfully I didn't get injured in the pit. 3) My buddy's band, Pickwick Commons, in a basement in Indiana. Those were some good times in college, just moshing and getting sweaty with a bunch of other people who loved that DIY scene and hardcore music. I'd love for anyone reading this to DM me your favorite concert or artist (on TikTok or Insta)!
