Samy Sharif - DREAM TOUR

In this Dream Tour segment, the alternative artist, Samy Sharif, shares what his ideal world-spanning tour would look like. You can check out his vision below:

My dream tour would consist of myself and Nick Cave traveling the world together. We’d play every corner of the globe in non traditional spaces, a cave in Jordan, a South American rainforest, a Greek island, etc. We’d sprinkle in traditional theatres and opera houses because they’re beautiful too, the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, etc.

Each night I’d study Nick’s poetry and performances. He’d be generous with me. He’d watch my sets and offer wisdom. There is a depth to Nick’s work that I’m chasing. There’s a depth to his narrative that I admire. A true lifelong artist that only gets better, deeper, truer, and more beautiful with age. To me, he’s the definition of “it’s a marathon, not a sprint.”

The stage design would be a giant sunflower slightly tilted towards the audience. The band would set up in the sunflower’s center. The petals would be screens that gently reflect the audience’s image back at them. The lighting would be simple and beautiful. There would be no promo for the tour. There would be no cell phones. The experience would plainly be about music and connection.
