Kah-Lo - TOUR TIPS

In this Tour Tips segment, the dance and electronic artist, Kah-Lo, recommends advice for being a musician on the road. You can check out the tips below:

Tour life is a dream, but your vocal cords? They’re doing the most. That’s why I never leave for a show without some Throat Coat tea in my bag. It’s basically a hug for your voice. Pro tip: if you’re winding down after a set (or pre-gaming one, no judgment), it pairs like a dream with Jack Daniel’s Honey, lemon, and a little hot water. Hello, impromptu hot toddy — cozy and functional.

Now, if there’s one thing that can totally wreck your tour momentum, it’s getting sick mid-route. I don’t play when it comes to immunity — I travel with zinc, vitamin C, manuka honey, ginger, lemon, the whole lineup. I’m that girl grabbing a ginger shot at the airport or between soundcheck and dinner. If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready (or worse, cancel a show).

And honestly? Rest is the unsung hero of tour life. Between late-night venues, early flights, and everything in between, your body needs downtime. If you’ve got a travel day or a full 24 hours with nothing scheduled, take it. Nap, stretch, meditate, do whatever helps you come back to yourself. Being on tour is a wild ride — protect your energy so you can keep giving your all on stage.
