Hunter & The Bear – TOUR TIPS

In this Tour Tips segment, the rock band, Hunter & The Bear, give you their tips for being on tour. You can check out the feature, after the break.

1) Get The Tunes On!
Long drives through the night, early morning good times and inevitable traffic jams are made bearable by one thing and one thing only: good tunes. Keep the cd wallet stocked up, keep it fresh and for goodness sake make sure the stereo works.

2) Sniff Out The Chippy
A cheeky Google of the area prior to arrival is KEY! You get a maximum of 6 hours in each town you play, 5.5 of which are filled with gig related nonsense. Prior preparation people! No one wants to be the guy filling up on rider crisps cause he couldn’t find the Chippy.

3) Beds Are Nice
We’ve all been caught out before; sleeping in the van, under the stars or under the bass player’s 12-year-old Glastonbury Tipi. There’s a certain charm to being at one with nature but on a long tour make sure you have a pillow to lay your weary head on.

4) Don’t Forget Your Hat
Fix up, look sharp. Nobody likes a smelly band. More than one stage outfit is key. It will be hot, cold, wet, windy and everything in between. Don’t be the guy searching for an emergency poncho soaked to the bone at 2am.

5) The Show Is King
Although tour is a big blur of city lights and sleepless nights always remember that the show is king. Do what you gotta do but come stage time you need to be ready to blow people’s minds. Leave everything on stage. “One great rock show can change the world!” Dewey Finn – School Of Rock
