X&Y – DREAM TOUR

The dream tour would probably be across some insane venues in Asia in open-air amphitheaters; maybe starting in Malaysia and jumping over to Thailand, Vietnam, and China with a week off after every show to go party and explore; fancy dress would be compulsory, facepaint would be highly recommended and everyone would be strongly encouraged to get naked during the encore and have a massive powder paint fight.

Each show could be like a mini-festival vibe. So we’d share the bill with maybe 5 or 6 ridiculous acts. We’re thinking Sigur Ros followed by Stevie Wonder, then Bob Dylan would come on to do an acoustic set with Carole King & Joni Mitchell. The Rolling Stones would warm up for Destiny’s Child and then Madonna would be our special guest.

The stage would be like a transformer, so every song would have a totally different set-up. We’re thinking a Glastonbury-type Pyramid stage for one song, then a massive carousel for the next, and then a massive pit of water with tropical fish for the next (with additional fans for Beyoncé obviously). We’d ask Mother Nature to switch off the sun around halfway through for an insane lighting & firework display during Stevie Wonder’s duet with us.

Tickets would be 100% free for everyone. So we’d have to fund it via massive endorsement deals from Wagamamas (for the free food), Tom Ford (for the free clothes), Gibson (for the free equipment) and Smirnoff (for the free booze). Plus, the show’s finale would be the leaders of the country we were in and the leaders of their neighboring countries holding hands and signing a treaty to guarantee no wars & no oppression ever again. You know, to solve world peace and stuff …

Sounds like a pretty dreamy tour to us!
