In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the hard rock band, The Treatment, shares one of their stories from being on the road. You can check out the story, after the break.
We have all had a very blessed career and chances that many young bands don’t get which we’re all so grateful for, but with that, we have certainly collected a few stories along the way! We’ve dined with Gene Simmons in his full stage gear while talking about his TV program Rock School. We’ve had Steve D from Buckcherry get up and jam Krokus with us. Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee hired strippers dressed as clowns for our singers 21st just because he had a terrible phobia of “IT”! They poured so much vodka over him I think he has still got his liver pickled! We got pranked so hard with Alice Cooper that the stage was covered in gaffa tape and flower, Rikk actually walked out of his shoes, we even had people in chicken suites run across the stage while we were playing! Alice has given us tips on how to stay sane in this business by playing mini toilet golf! During the last KISS and Motley Crue show, their roadies started dismantling our gear mid-song, first, the cymbals went, then our guitar stacks, followed by the bass rig, then the toms, until finally by the final chorus of our song, it was just a hi-hat, snare and the singer mic! But the ultimate moment for me was getting up and sound-checking a few songs with Thin Lizzy, I actually grew up next-door neighbours to Snowy White so Lizzy has always been a huge influence to me, and then getting to play with Scott Gorham was incredible!
We’ve had some darker times too, our passports robbed at gunpoint and ransomed back to us which was pretty terrible. One trip to Russia, our gear all went to Switzerland and we all went to the show in Moscow, sadly British Airways had a hard time tracking down what had happened so we played on some very bizarre instruments that show…but the show went ahead none the less! We’re also burst a fuel pipe inside a petrol station in France, which put the locals in quite a bait, so we had to scurry out of that one quick! We have even been told off by Duff Mckagan for being too loud backstage! All in all, though, the best times and tour shenanigans have been with my brothers in the band, I wouldn’t change one story for the world.
