In this Dream Tour segment, the pop artist, Ross T, reveals who he would want on his ultimate tour lineup. You can check out their picks, after the break.
There are a bunch of artists that have inspired me throughout my life that I’d be honored to perform alongside. When I think back to my childhood and which performers I absolutely admired, I think of Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson. It’s funny because they’re regarded as two of the best performers to ever do it, but have totally different presences on stage.
MJ had the iconic outfits and choreographed routines. He’d glide around the stage while keeping perfect pitch. A true showman. My ma saw him live when she was a teenager and she said it was the best performance she’d ever seen.
Sinatra was a very different performer. He could captivate an audience with his charm and soft-spoken voice and nothing else. Everything seemed so effortless, his pacing, his tonality. He could read the phone book and make it sound good.
What these two artists did have in common was their absolute authenticity. I believe that to make it in the industry you have to be 100% yourself. Some artists might fake it and see some success, but those artists never move the needle and are always forgotten. The legends stay true to themselves and are the ones who inspire artists like myself. Obviously, a tour with me, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Jackson would make absolutely no sense musically, but a man can dream.
