Revelry - FIRST CONCERT EVER

In this First Concert Ever segment, the pop punk band, Revelry, talks about the story of their first experiences with live music. You can check out the story below:

Kevin (Vocals): My very first concert was getting to see Hidden In Plain View at The Roxy Theatre in Hollywood CA. It was 2015, I was with my brother and a group of friends to what I can honestly say was one of the most memorable moments of my life. Seeing a band I grew up listening to perform live and seeing them all express their passion on stage was one of the main reasons why I picked up an instrument in the first placed, as a big part of me has always wanted that experience. Hearing the crowd sing along and just feeling the moment stuck to me like nothing else. I grew up listening to different types of music but what stuck to me the most has always been emo / pop punk. Hidden In Plain View was performing their “Life in Dreaming” album. - One of my all time favorite albums! Which then started my run to see other bands and continue pushing my love to perform as well.

Jeff (Guitars): I remember my very first concert was New Found Glory and Senses Fail at The Avalon in Hollywood CA. It was 2007 and my parents took me and two of my friends to go see what I would consider to be one of the best experiences ever. I was always into music, I get that from my father who played music while he was growing up, but I never realized how much enjoyment and pure ecstasy I would feel from seeing a band perform their art, in person, on stage, in front of hundreds of people. I grew up listening to pop punk music and was just starting to get into the heavier side of music as well. Senses fail was performing their “Still Searching” album and New Found Glory was performing their “Catalyst” album as well. Both of which are top tier albums in my opinion. Since then I have been to countless concerts and I could honestly say this show kickstarted my love for performing live myself.

Rossi (Drums/Vocals): I have 3 that happened around the same time that were all equally impactful. I went to one of my childhood friends shows, his Christian Metalcore band was playing at. it was out front of a youth church center in Palmdale, CA. I went to see Paramore on the Honda Civic tour I think it was the Brand New Eyes Era which is one of my favorite albums ever! and I went to Warped Tour in Ventura back in 2010. I got dropped off to the 1st one and the other 2 I went with my older sister. Pretty nervous for all of them, didn’t have any expectations just hoped to have a good time and hopefully didn’t get hit in the face. I honestly can’t remember which one happened first but all 3 really solidified me wanting to pursue music. Watching Zac Farro among other drummers playing their hearts out really struck a chord with me. Seeing bands perform whether at a diy event or a giant stage production made me fall in love with the experience at all levels, plus circle pits were pretty fun!

David (Bass): So my first concert ever was Linkin Park at the Staples Center I was 10 years old at the time.My dad ended up getting free tickets from his friend at the time and at this point I’ve ever only listened to Linkin Park when they were being played on the radio. Fifteen minutes in to the show I’m completely hooked. Everything from how they sounded to their stage presence was perfect. The one thing I will forever remember from that show was Chester Bennington’s seventeen second scream when they preformed Given Up. My jaw dropped to the floor. One of the best moments in my life.
