Curtis: Mine was the Rolling Stones in Michigan Stadium. Carlos Santana (pre Supernatural album) opened. My family was visiting my aunt and uncle and they had an extra ticket and asked my parents if they could take me. It was awesome, massive, and I remember it so perfectly.
Kat: Well first ever was The Beach Boys but I barely remember it as I was around 5 years old but I am happy I can say that was my first. The next big concert was the “Puff Daddy & The Family’s No Way Out” Tour. The lineup included 112, Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, Foxy Brown, Usher, Jay-Z, and more and I now realize how epic that was.
I have so many favorites though. Radiohead during the “Hail to the Thief” tour was my next big concert and I’ve seen them now seven times, but I was really blown away by catching Savages at the Observatory. That was probably the most in awe I have been. Another cool moment was seeing a private My Chemical Romance show at the Roxy during the Black Parade album just before they headed out to Japan. It was their warm-up show and it was incredible. I met the band after which I’ll never forget.
Dan: My first concert was 311 at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center. I was 14 and went with one of my best friends. The true teenage angst manifested into a weird need to dye our hair green. We didn’t have any hair dye, but we DID have some green Kool-Aid. The rumors aren’t true. That shit doesn’t work at all.
You just end up with a sticky mess and zero green once you’re done. It didn’t keep us from having a killer time and headbanging until we couldn’t hold our heads up. That show solidified what I already knew: I’d be doing that for a living one day.
