In this Tour Tips segment, the pop artist, noelle, recommends advice for being a musician on the road. You can check out the tips below:
I just finished my first tour. It was so fun, but can also wear you down if you aren’t prepped.
My first tip is to bring a giant water bottle everywhere you go. Staying hydrated while on the road is one of the most important things you can do. Drinking lots of water keeps your vocal cords lubed up, your skin clear, helps your immune system, etc.
My second tip is to get some eucalyptus facial mist from saje. Touring is so exhausting and the facial spray makes you feel so refreshed. I used mine about 10 times per day lol.
Tip number three is to bring your own heathy snacks. I often found myself eating junky food that was accessible, and wished I had brought more nuts and oat bars.
My fourth and most important tip is to take time for yourself. Before every show, I put in my AirPods, zoned out, and warmed up away from everyone else.
Which leads me to my fifth tip, vocal warm ups. Always make sure you have time to do at least a 15 minute vocal warm up. I do guided warm ups on YouTube, and then listen to pump up songs and sing along for an hour before the show.
Hope my tips are helpful to anyone about to head out on the road!
