Martin Luke Brown - FIRST CONCERT EVER

So, unashamedly, my first ever concert was Britney Spears at Wembley. Toxic is easily the best pop song of all time.

I went with my parents and my sister. We’d been living in Leicester for a few years at this point so the trip down to London made it extra exciting. I remember getting a big mac for the first time on the way down (my sister got nuggets just incase but alas, it was a gamechanger for life).

From googling just now, it was in 2004 which means Toxic would’ve been out for a year and I would have been 11 years old, and about to become a man.

There were approximately 7 costume changes but I distinctly remember her ripping off a sparkly dress and flailing around on a piece of string to You Drive Me Crazy. Apt. The whole experience was so new and confusing, for my poor parents probably even more so. Truly a night to remember for everyone.

I’m not sure any other concert will ever compare.

God bless Britney Spears. I really hope she’s okay. I’ll always love her x
