Kill My Coquette dream tour is (drum roll please)…
I’d die if Kill My Coquette toured with Iggy Pop. A human live wire! Energy has to go somewhere, this man brings it to the stage.
I relate to his midwest working class roots. He made something from nothing. And he does it with vigor. A true original.
Would love to get a chance to tour with Brody Dalle and/or Joan Jett. I’ve always looked up to them. They thrive and survive. I’d be thrilled to watch them from the side of the stage. Strapping an eight pound piece of wood around your back and singing your guts out at the same time ain’t easy, but they make it look so. Unapologetic, aggressive, poignant.
Touring with Jack White would be a dream. He makes sounds with his guitar I’ve never heard before. Another Detroit native. “Lazaretto” is easily one of my favorite tracks. “Ball and Biscuit.” LOVE. He’s theatrical. He’s experimental. He’s loud.
Social Distortion is the reason I finally got around to make music. Would love to play a few shows with them. I’ve been a fan for awhile now. It was at a Social D show I decided I was gonna go for it. The next day I started to write songs and learn how to play the guitar. Mike Ness can really write a song. That’s the hard part, writing a really really good song. His early stuff is all rebel but the newer music is more bluesy, melodic, classic rock and roll. Their music always puts me in a certain mood. A good one!
Rancid is a band I’ve been listening to for a while now too. Three chord catchy hook songs about some of life’s darker realities. Somehow I’m always left in a good mood after listening to them.
I also love The Kills. They have a dirty haunting sound I really like. I heard Marilyn Manson was going back on tour too. Now THAT could be fun. Can’t forget the Foo Fighters. Dave Grohls’ approach to music is what we need right now. Good ole’ rock and roll.
So many bands I’d love to tour with. We’re gonna need a really big bus…
