here/now - CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the post-hardcore band, here/now, shares one of their stories from being on the road. You can check out the story below:

Years ago a couple of us were on our way to Miami from a show in Gainesville in a rental van we got in our hometown, Philly. We had a day off in between and stopped in Daytona Beach to relax. We noticed people taking their cars onto the beach and we decided to join in on the fun. While driving along looking for a spot to post up, we got this uneasy feeling and felt a sudden sense of panic on the beach. Seemingly out of nowhere, high tide started picking up rapidly, which we didn’t realize until the waves were lapping against the van tires. It was sudden pandemonium as everyone was trying to leave at the same time. With the weight of all the gear in the van, we kept sinking into the sand. A few of us hopped out and started pushing as hard as we could with little affect. Luckily a bunch of other people rallied behind us and helped push the van. We were somehow able to get enough traction to get out safe and sound. We were sure the van and all the gear were about to be washed out to sea. No more excursions onto the beach from then on. - Pat
