COLD BELOW - FIRST CONCERT EVER

In this First Concert Ever segment, Frank Pierri, from the unhinged heavy band, COLD BELOW (featuring ex-members of Oceano, Winds of Plague, Sleeping Giant, and Monsters), talks about the story of his first experience with live music. You can check out the story below:

My first concert ever was Coheed and Cambria at the House of Blues in Chicago. I was 12 years old and had no concept of what a "show" was or what to expect. Fortunately, I had an older brother who was into Coheed at the time, and he brought me along.

I don't know if I'd classify this as the concert that got me hooked on metal or heavy music, but it was definitely a pivotal moment for me and something I can remember vividly to this day. I remember thinking the House of Blues was MASSIVE at the time. It was the largest stage I had ever seen and I was blown away by how the bands sounded. I had only seen my older brother jam on his combo amp in my parents garage so this was a whole new level for me.

I remember seeing so many people smoking cigarettes and feeling like I was doing something I shouldn't, or like I was "hanging with a rough crowd" lol! I'm grateful for that experience and happy I can still recall it all these years later. We don't realize we're in pivotal moments till they are long gone so I encourage anyone reading this to live in the moment, and immerse yourself in the scene.
