I have to preface this by saying I don’t think this tour would make sense in any dimension or timeline but these artists are certainly in the running for my top influences. The first band on my tour would be Household. This band has consumed my Spotify for the last three years of my life after I saw them on tour with A Lot Like Birds at The Wire in Berwyn, IL. There is something about the way they transition from part to part in their songs that really drag me in. This band simply has a really cool and unique style that is willing to take risks that other bands in post-hardcore might not be willing to. The second band on the bill would have to be King Theta. He is mostly focused on music production currently but I am a huge fan of his as a person and songwriter. He has written every song with me and has inspired me on multiple occasions to push boundaries. The third artist would be 22gz. I would just want an excuse to listen to his music every night, to be honest. I got into a short-lived NY Drill phase with my fiancé and younger brother. 22gz felt like a standout artist in that genre. I really enjoy his flow and cadence. The last band on the bill would be UnityTX. This band is laying out the blueprint for what hardcore will turn into. They are mixing rap sounds with hardcore music in a really cool way. I have to add some honorable mentions here that barely missed the cut. Arm’s Length, $hyfromdatre, Spite, Mannequin Pussy, and Pretty Sick.
