BROOKLNN – FIRST CONCERT EVER

In this First Concert Ever segment, the pop artist, BROOKLNN, talks about the story of her first experience with live music. You can check out the story, after the break.

The first concert I ever went to was Michael Jackson’s HIStory Australian tour in ’96. It was one of the greatest memories I have and I feel so blessed I got to see him. I was only 5 years old but I still remember how epic the entire show was… It was like I was witnessing an alien from another planet or seeing royalty… Everyone was in awe and filled with so much excitement. There wasn’t a soul that wasn’t singing along or screaming out. He’s still a huge idol and inspiration to me…. Also, I’ll never forget that night because someone put their cigarette out on my shoulder by accident when we were walking into the stadium!

Michael has always influenced me when it comes to performance or songwriting. I’ve felt his spirit close by over the years when I’ve been in studio’s in L.A. or just meeting people who work with him. He always seemed to root himself in his music and I’ve always aspired to do the same when I create.

I’ve just returned to Australia after 4 years in Sweden songwriting for global artists. I got the opportunity to write in Stockholm to experience co-writing sessions and after only 3 days there I was signed pretty quickly to publishing house The Kennel, which is now sub published with Universal Music. It’s been an amazing journey so far and I’m excited to finally release more music November 14th. I have a few more up my sleeve after this one! They’re a bit more honest than my first 2 singles.
