Warbringer – TOUR TIPS

Metal band, Warbringer, have written a set of Tour Tips that you guys can learn from. You can check them out after the break.

1. Questing Mindset
There is a lot of dull downtime on tours, so I find it’s important to keep a sort of spirit of adventure about the whole thing—like, as if it’s some sort of great quest that I must go and complete. There are usually some moments of total victory in there that make the useless transit time worthwhile—like waking up at sunrise and driving over mountains.
2. Rough it
You are a questing dude. You are no bitch. You don’t need a hotel every night. Set up your van so you can sleep in it decently. Unless you get paid like a couple grand a night, there’s no reason to not have extra money. If everyone’s asleep in the van, you can just wake up and drive if you need to, no waiting around. It’s kind of amazing how many hours of sleep per day you can pull in a moving vehicle.
3. Baby Wipes
Totally essential, as often mentioned. I usually end up showering about once every 3-4 days on average, due to either circumstances or apathy. I do put hot sauce on like half of everything I eat, so this is just a necessity.
4. Gallon Jug of Water
Refill at gas station for free like once a day. Reduces van trash buildup on your end by not always using a million plastic bottles, and you can drink infinity water and it’s only good for you.
5. Starcraft
No matter how bored you are, you can always continue to develop your skills at Starcraft. A laptop can run it, and you get wireless at 3/4 of venues. I play a pretty strong Zerg.
