Methane – CRAZY TOUR STORIES

In this Crazy Tour Stories segment, the southern metal band, Methane, talk about one of their crazy moments from touring. You can check out the feature, after the break.

One of those obvious problems you can encounter touring is car problems. Our last trip to Norway we had a different experience. We had road problems. The road to Trondheim from Sweden is a narrow mountain pass, big enough for 2 cars to barely pass each other with steep dikes deep on either side. These back roads in the wilderness are desolate and don’t get plowed often. So midwinter we made our way through this pass. It was starting to warm up so there, of course, were a lot of icy patches on the snow covered road and we managed to come to close to the side and drive into the ditch. Luckily Fred the Red, our friend who was roaring for us, press down on the accelerator and somehow we bounced back up safely on the road.

On our way back we were less fortunate. We are driving through the mountains of ice and snow covered back roads and we crash into a ditch… Again.. This time for real. The van almost flipped on its side.Surprisingly there wasn’t any screaming and no one was injured. We stood out on the road in the middle of the night, freezing our asses off and luckily for us we a tractor came out of the blackened Norwegian abysmal forest, kind of like out of nowhere and helped pull us back onto the road.
