Lovespeake – TOUR TIPS

In this Tour Tips segment, the pop band, Lovespeake, give you their tips for being on tour. You can check out the feature, after the break.

1) Always have a backup aux cable, a roll of CD-Rs or a Bluetooth speaker with you at all times…Riding eternal highways without your soundtrack of choice can be daunting. And there’s nothing that kills a pre-show vibe more than a backstage area with no stereo to blast out your guilty pleasures..!
2) Pack enough underwear. Pack enough tees. Pack enough deodorant. And do not count on your bandmate/roomie to be the one who brings the toothpaste. Never go to bed without brushing your teeth – for both your own and the band’s sake the following day..! Also, learn your share of lateral thinking puzzles and bad jokes. Bring a deck of cards or a board game or two. Touring is fun, but an 8 hr drive has its lows…(bring a decent travel neck rest if you just want to sleep..)
3) Be nice. Don’t be a dick to the promoter or the sound guys, and don’t break shit…you want to be remembered across the venues on your tour as the band who always had a good attitude and were polite, showed up on time and did your job. That pays off in the end, and they’ll want you back for more.
4) Get yourself a decent camera, learn final cut pro or some other good video software. Always film what’s going on behind the scenes. If not just for promotional purposes, at least for your own sake. You’re going to look back at those days like it was the best days of your life. The people, the cities, the countryside, all the small moments that made the magic happen. (And heck, maybe you even caught a golden, hilarious moment that might just go viral..!)
5) Play every show as if it’s the best show you’ll ever play. You never know who’s going to be in that room, and they should walk away from that show like they were the only other people on the planet. You never know who’s life you’re about to touch and who’s life you might change..In terms of energy, obviously, playing for big crazy crowds where people know the words to your songs is always gonna give you that extra kick, and give you even more to interact with VS a show with 30 people who see you for the first time with their arms crossed.. But just always give your best. Do it for them!

Keep up with the band on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
