My dream tour would be with The Faces circa ’72. These guys threw a rock & roll party on stage and literally toured with a bartender, who was on-stage serving drinks!

Party animals aside, this band had some great fuckin’ players. Ronnie Wood went on to join The Stones. Kenny Jones replaced Keith Moon after his death. Rod Stewart, of course, went on to make lame adult-contemporary music, but he was a total bad-ass in the day. Shouting songs about womanizing in his authentically whiskey-soaked delivery. Ian McLagan went on to tour as a sideman with classics like Chuck Berry, The Stones, Dylan, and Springsteen.

It would have been great to experience this first hand, to see all these superstars before they were. I’d love to be able to pick through Ronnie Woods amps and guitars. Hopefully, steal some tricks of the trade. Who knows, maybe they were really drinking iced-tea and practicing backstage!

Keep up with the band on Facebook and Twitter!
