The Rise of the Broken – TOUR PRANKS

In this Tour Pranks segment, Kevin Rodriguez of the alternative rock band, The Rise of the Broken, shares some pranks that have happened on tour. You can check out the feature, after the break.

On our last tour in April/May, we had a game one of the bands we were on tour taught us that was pretty much a prank daily between all the bands. We had this game where if someone, for example, asked who’s guitar is this, and someone answered, “mine,” then you’d have to say, “drop,” and that person would have to drop and do 10 push-ups. It would always happen at the most inconvenient times on tour. My drummer actually got stuck doing about 80-90 push-ups in one day, and he was just so sore sometimes when it came down to playing our set, but it was worth it and was too funny. The best one that got me was when we were walking into a mall in Rhode Island and my bassist ask me, “Hey whose water bottle is that?” I wasn’t really paying attention and I replied, “It’s mine you idiot, don’t you see it in my hand?!” And then he simply yells, “DROP!” I just had a look of disappointment but was funny at the same time. Of course, I had to drop and do my push-ups, and the phones came out and everyone was snapchatting it. It’s a cool little prank/game to play on tour cause it makes you pay attention and also can get you in shape if you aren’t sharp enough to catch the question.
