Project 86 – TOUR TIPS (Part 1 of 2)

Rock band, Project 86, have written a set of Tour Tips that you guys can learn from. You can check out part 1 of 2 after the break.

1. Drink less when you are driving, more when you arrive. – To cut down on the pee stops, drink less.  It’s common sense, right?  This way, you can arrive on time.
2. Pack light. – Socks, underwear, and t-shirts is all you really need.  Two pairs of jeans, 1 jacket, 2 pairs of shoes (1 pair for muddy festival dates!)  The telltale sign of a new band is the 5 HUGE suitcases filled with entire wardrobes.
3. Show clothes are for shows only. – Only wear your show jeans and shirts for shows.  Do not wear them in the van or bus.  Your bandmates and crew will thank you.  A good place to store your show clothes during the day is in the trailer, so they dry from the night before.  Also, try to choose 1 pair of jeans for shows only.  And maybe a few shirts.  This will save laundry.
4. Wear socks as much as possible. – Even if you are rocking the Toms-no-socks-with-cutoff-shorts look, please do us all a favor and wear socks every third day or so.
5. Priceline – Cheap hotels, name your own price.  I always feel like a badass when my bids go through…
